Weiss–heiten designed the inaugural signature store for Aesop Skincare in Germany. The shop is located in Alte Schönhauser Straße, Berlin-Mitte. In line with Aesop’s approach to building unique site-specific stores that reflect local qualities, we explored the unique character of Berlin—its tension between old and new, roughness and beauty, urban and nature.

Inspired by Gerhard Richter’s monochromatic canvases, and by the city’s industrial history, the interior is designed with a palette of sea-green and handmade raw concrete tiles, creating a quietly clinical aesthetic hidden in the heart of the forest.
