Ace & Tate Munich
Amsterdam-based eyewear brand Ace & Tate opened its second store in Germany. The new Munich outpost is designed by multi-disciplinary team Weiss-heiten with Tina Bunyaprasit and Birgit Kohlhaas. By reflecting mirrors off one another and creating the illusion of a vanishing point, Weiss-heiten manipulates viewers’ visual senses. It's just an illusion.

We've been hosting the event, No. 6: Corpus, Ooi (viola, untrained voice), Rebecca Lane (bass flute, flute, untrained voice, electronics) and Saara Markkanen (voice, flute) will be performing works by Scelsi, Sciarrino, Ligeti, Catherine Lamb and Aperghis. As well as explorations of flute + electronics and finnish folk music.

First Aesop store in Germany
Aesop has opened its first signature store in Germany, in Berlin Mitte. Weiss-heiten have been chosen to create the architectural concept and interior design. The exhibition, Afritecture, at the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich explores contemporary architecture in Africa. Cairo masters students in Berlin
The Masters students of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Art in Cairo, Egypt, came to visit us in the Berlin studio. Our discussion led further than just talking about fonts and printing techniques. The most interesting part was the exchange of future ideas and potential ways to create social relevant and location dependent models for the future in Egypt.

Die Burg / In-depth typography
Co-teaching with Prof. Andrea Tinnes: 5 days and 140 characters – typography & twitterature. The students of the first year at Burg Giebichenstein had one week to interpret tweets in a typografical manner. From poetry to banal lacking in content messages, all different contents were transfered onto posters in a very experimental and playful manner. Hot on type? Villa Aurora is an artists residence and historic landmark is located in the former home of exiled German-Jewish writer Lion Feuchtwanger and his wife Marta. To promote and foster German-American cultural exchange and to remember the European exiles that settled in Southern California, Villa Aurora offers a variety of public lectures, screenings and performances. Weiss–Heiten was taking care of the new visual identity of this prestigous organisation.

Buckminster Fuller
From June 11th to September 18th the Museum Marta Herford is presenting Richard Buckminster Fullers work. Additionally the show will be supplemented with pieces by international contemporary artists. The historical part is curated by Sir Norman Foster, whereas the contemporary works are curated by the Marta-team in corporation with Markus Richter. Weiss-heiten took care of the exhibitions visual identity and the catalogue— a big pleasure and a wonderful corporation!
